Revis @ the K-rockathon August 16, 2003

Revis was one of the many bands that were set to play on the bill for the 2003 K-Rockathon but they were the one band I had the most anticipation about seeing live. Revis has come a long way since their humble beginnings in Illinois and recently opening for bands such as Greenwheel.  They still are on their way to success by charging into the radio charts at full steam with their single "Caught in the Rain," which can be found on their debut album Places for Breathing and on the Daredevil Soundtrack.

Revis is composed of vocalist Justin Holman, guitarist Robert Davis, guitarist Nathaniel Cox, bassist Bob Thiemann and drummer David Pirbauer.

They're debut album Places for Breathing has a refreshing diversity that can please anyone.  Holman's haunting voice burns into your soul and the lyrics of each song continues to echo in your mind long after the disk is over.  Forcing one's thoughts to go deeper than trivial issues that may be effecting their day.

Revis' set was nothing but amazing. They are full of non-stop energy and know how to work a crowd. Their set was stopped for about fifteen minutes due to an electrical storm. They were literally "Caught In The Rain." Revis didn't let the bad weather stop them from pouring their hearts out on stage.

After the short delay, they appropriately tore right into "Caught in the Rain." Holman's voice echoed over the soaked and very wet crowd pulling them back in front of the stage from the stands.  Their set included "Your Wall," "Spin," "Seven," and "Everything After."

Revis is an amazing band that is surely going to be going places in the future. The band has shown a lot of progress since their first tour. With an amazing live set that commemorates the passion and power found on their album I give them a 5 out of 5 stars and advice to go see them live AND buy Places for Breathing NOW
