The venue was sold out and the crowd was anxious when Incubus’s Fall Morning View Tour was getting ready to hit the stage on Sunday September 22 at Cornell University. Fans came from all over to enjoy Incubus perform. Suddenly the lights went out and the opening act 30 Seconds to Mars began playing songs off of their self-titled debut release. Performing songs such as “Buddha For Mary” and “Edge of the Earth” instantaneously getting the crowd moving and dancing along with the rhythm of the guitars. Having a unique sound with heavy guitar riffs and drum beats they grabbed the audiences attention and had a hold of it for the whole set. In which they closed their set performing their single “Capricorn.” Lucky fans that bought their album had a chance to meet the band and get autographs after their set.

After 30 Seconds To Mars played the crowd began to move in closer and closer getting as close as possible to the stage, to get a good spot for Incubus. After about twenty minutes suddenly the lights went out, the crowd began to scream as DJ Kilmore taunted them by spinning his turntables. The lights came on and Bass player Dirk Lance, Guitar player Mike Einziger, Drummer Jose Pasillas, and Vocalist Brandon Boyd dove right into “Circles.” The excitement and energy was amazing, the crowd responded giving off so much energy for a fairly small venue.

Performing songs mostly from their latest album “Morning View” and their 1999 release “Make Yourself.” Their set included their famous songs “Stellar,” “Drive,” “Warning,” and “Wish You Were Here.” Mid set the band took a “time out” toning the show down a bit. As Brandon, Dirk and Mike sat down on a couch in the middle of the stage for an intimate performance of “Mexico” and “11am.”

Although Incubus seems to be a very mellow band from their radio releases, playing songs such as “Privilege,”  “Make Yourself,” and “Clean” and “Pardon Me” shows their more aggressive harder sound portrayed on their album S.C.I.E.N.C.E. It was a very good mixture of songs between the two albums getting any fan new or old into the music enjoying themselves and the show.

As Boyd teased the crowd saying their last song would be “Pardon Me,” they were in for a surprise, as Incubus all came back out and sang an encore of “The Warmth” and making an instrument change for their last song “Aqueous Transmission.”

Overall Incubus puts on a killer performance. The ticket price is not bad and well worth the 25 bucks. Playing an outstanding live set and knowing how to please their audience leaving them wanting to hear and see more. Even if you have to take a long “Drive” you would be crazy to miss out on the Incubus experience. Do not miss the opportunity to go out and catch them on their Fall Morning View Tour consider that a “Warning!!”
